Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026
This policy says what UDRESS collects, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it and what you control. In the app you can see the same list for your own account: My Account → My Data → What we know about you.
We do not sell your personal data, UDRESS shows no advertising, and we do not use your photos, videos, words or messages to train AI models.
1. What we collect
- Your account: name, username, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, profile photos, bio and app language.
- Where you are: a city, only if you add one. Only you can see it: it is never shown to anyone else or on your profile, and it is used only to suggest people near you, between two adults. Where your account is based is a country, never a city, that Udress sets automatically from account signals such as your verified phone number and your app store country. It cannot be typed or edited; when it is clear it appears as “Account based in” under “About this account”, with how many times it changed, and our support team can see it. A place is attached to a post or message only when you choose one. We do not track your device’s location.
- Body details, only if you add them: a full-body photo, height and measurements, for try-on and fit. Only you can see them.
- What you create: posts, comments, outfits, Daily, Runway walks, and chat messages with their photos, videos and voice notes.
- Activity: likes, saves, follows, blocks, mutes and the posts you view, from which we keep a small profile of your interests. Your recent searches stay on your phone.
- AI features: the photos and words you send to an AI feature, the results, and a record of each attempt.
- Purchases: your UD Credits balance and history, and records of store purchases and subscriptions. We never see your card details.
- Identity checks: your verified phone number and, if you verify with a document, its photos and a short video selfie, recorded live. Automated tools read the document, check that the selfie is a live person, and compare the selfie’s face with the document’s photo; no face template is kept. The photos and the video are deleted once the check is decided. We keep the result, the date, the document type, the last four characters of its number, and a protected code made from the document’s number so one document verifies only one account (kept for a year after the account is deleted).
- Device and safety: your notification token, device type, crash reports, protected codes made from your phone number and device so free credits are given only once, and reports, moderation decisions and your account standing.
2. Why we use it
- To run UDRESS: your account, feed, chats, notifications, AI features and credits.
- To keep people safe: to check what is posted, handle reports and appeals, and stop abuse and fraud.
- To help you when you contact us, and to fix problems.
- To meet legal duties, such as keeping financial records.
3. AI features and automated checks
- When you use an AI feature, such as try-on, AI Studio, AI video, Runway walks, the Sound Atelier or writing suggestions, the photos and words you submit are sent to third-party AI services to make the result. This happens only when you ask for it.
- Before the first AI feature that sends your photos, video, voice or words, we ask you once whether they may be sent to these services. You can change your answer at any time in My Account → My Data → How Udress uses AI. Try-on uses your full-body photo.
- To keep UDRESS safe and working, automated tools also check what is posted in public places (photos, videos, comments and other words people can see) for harmful or offensive content, read an identity document you choose to submit, compare how the pictures of public posts look so we can suggest similar posts, and suggest comment ideas for public posts. They are never used to recognise who is in a picture. Chat messages are checked only if someone in the chat reports them.
- Reviews of reports and support messages may use automated tools together with our team. You can appeal any decision about your content or account.
- The answers you give for a chat T-shirt are private to you, never sent to an AI, and shown to the other person only if you allow it.
4. Who we share it with
We use service providers to run UDRESS. They process data to provide their services to us, and we require them by contract to protect it:
- cloud hosting, storage and notification services;
- AI processing services, for the features you use and the checks above;
- content-safety, link-safety and copyright-recognition services;
- app stores and payment processors (Apple App Store and Google Play) and a service that verifies store purchases;
- media delivery services, to show photos and videos quickly;
- maps, places, translation and GIF search services, only when you use those features.
App stores, and the Google or Apple account you may sign in with, handle what you give them under their own privacy policies. We also share data when the law requires it, to answer a valid legal request, or to protect someone from serious harm. If UDRESS is ever merged or sold, your data may pass to the new owner under this policy.
We and our providers may process data in other countries than yours. When data leaves your country, we use safeguards the law accepts, such as contracts that protect it.
5. Who can see what
- Your profile and posts can be seen by other UDRESS users, as your privacy settings allow (a private account, who sees each post, who can message or mention you, who sees your likes and when you are online).
- Your email, phone number, date of birth, city, full-body photo and measurements are private to you.
- Chats are private between the people in them. Udress does not read your chats, except when someone in the chat reports a message or when the law requires it. Our systems handle them only to deliver them and run chat features.
- Our team sees data only where their work needs it, for example to review a report.
How we recommend
For you starts with new posts from accounts you follow, then suggests others, based on what you view, like, save and watch, what people you follow liked, what is popular and new, your language, and how pictures look. “Why you’re seeing this” gives the reason for a suggestion. In My Account → Manage suggestions you can turn off personalised suggestions, choose how much sensitive content you see, and choose whether your account is suggested to others. The Following tab shows only accounts you follow, newest first. Accounts under 18 are not suggested to adults.
Founding creators
If you apply to be a founding creator, we keep your name, email address, the username you asked for, your date of birth, the social media usernames you gave and your consents. A person on our team looks at your public work; nothing is collected from social networks automatically. If you are chosen, the photos and videos you send are used, with your required consent, to build your profile, outfits and a Runway walk with AI, and, only with your optional consent, in Udress’s own marketing. Applications not chosen are deleted within 180 days; the photos and videos you sent are deleted within 30 days of your profile being built. Founders send us their photos and videos through our Telegram bot; Telegram carries them to us, and we keep them as described here.
6. How long we keep it
- We keep data only as long as we need it for the reasons above. Your account data stays until you delete your account.
- Content you delete, or that we remove, is hidden at once and permanently deleted within 90 days, unless a report about it is still open.
- Identity document photos and the identity selfie are deleted when the check is decided, and within 30 days at most (a selfie never sent with a check, within 2 days).
- A copy of your data that you export can be downloaded for 4 days, then it is deleted.
- After your account is deleted, financial records (orders, invoices, credits and store purchases) and safety records (reports and decisions) are kept with your name removed, for as long as the law or safety requires. Every chat message you sent is deleted from our servers; copies already saved on other people’s phones stay with them.
7. Your choices and rights
- Get a copy: My Account → My Data → Export my data. A copy is made after you sign in again, can be downloaded in the app for 4 days, and you are notified each time one is made.
- Correct it: edit your profile at any time.
- Delete it: delete single posts, photos and details, or your whole account in My Account → My Data → Delete account. Your profile and posts are hidden from everyone at once, and your account is deleted after 14 days. If you sign in before then, we ask whether you want to keep your account or continue with the deletion. If you give a reason, it is kept for a year without your identity, only to improve Udress. See Delete your account.
- Pause it: My Account → My Data → Pause my account hides your profile and posts from everyone until you sign in and turn your account back on, or until the return date you chose. Nothing is deleted; we keep only when you paused and the return date.
- Control it: privacy, notifications and suggestions are in the app’s settings. You can block, mute and report anyone.
- You may have other rights under the law where you live, such as to object or to complain to a data protection authority. Write to us to use them; we may first confirm the request is yours.
8. Children
UDRESS is for people aged 13 and over. Accounts under 18 have extra protections: only people they follow can start a chat with them, they are not suggested to adults, sensitive content is kept to the minimum, and they cannot use Runway walks or sell. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we close it and delete its data. See our Child Safety Standards.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit between the app and our servers, and access to it is limited. No system is perfectly secure; if a security problem affects your data, we will tell you as the law requires.
10. Rights in some regions
- European Economic Area and United Kingdom: we use your data to provide the service you asked for, for our legitimate interest in keeping UDRESS safe and working, to meet legal duties, and with your consent where we ask for it (you can withdraw it at any time). You can ask to access, correct, delete or move your data, object to or limit its use, and complain to your data protection authority.
- California and other US states: you can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. We do not sell or share personal data for targeted advertising, and using your rights never changes how we treat you.
11. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we tell you in the app before the change applies.
12. Contact
Questions or requests about your data: support@udress.app, or Help & Support in the app. By post: Udress, Salam Building, Al Majaz 3, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
